It support 16 hot-swaps SAS/SATA connect to the HDD backplane; single miniSAS cable host connectivity for you RAID HBA and provided two miniSAS expanding connection supports daisy chain expansion to the next expander chassis its allow chain up total 8 units of mAGE316U40-Exp enclosure, for example using PCI-e x8 SAS RAID controller with mAGE316U40-Exp the SAS edge expander allows for communication up to total 128 SAS addresses or 128 end device; this allows you to add up additional storage units as they are needed for the most cost-effective storage expansion.
